HE AIN’T NEAR AS TIRED AS I AM

WHAT I’M REALLY TIRED OF IS THEIR CONSTANT WHINING ABOUT THE STATE OF THINGS WHEN IT WAS THE FREE MARKET RIGHT WING ECONOMICS THAT GOT US HERE TODAY.

I got another of one of those cry baby conservative widely circulated (which means by the right wing conspiracy) to a wide range of net resources and of course forwarded by those who identify with this stuff.  THE SAD THING IS THIS DIATRIBE WAS POSTED ALMOST A YEAR AGO on February 19, which just happens to be my birthday (I’ll be 73).   It wouldn’t be so bad if just a little bit of the sighted offences were true , but generally their  true only in the minds of the writer and his fans. Old Tired Bob was in the Mass. legislature for 5 terms that means at least 10 years of his hard work consisted of kissing ass and shaking hands.  The sweat must have rolled.

Resume of Robert A. Hall (sometimes known as tired “OLE BOB”)

HERE’S THE POST THE REMARKS  IN BLUE ARE MY THOUGHTS ON HIS POST

SORRY FOR BEING  63

I’ll be 63 soon. Except for one semester in college when jobs were scarce,` and a six-month period when I was between jobs, but job-hunting every day, I’ve worked, hard, since I was 18. Despite some health challenges, I still put in 50-hour weeks, and haven’t called in sick in seven or eight years. I make a good salary, but I didn’t inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, there’s no retirement in sight, and I’m tired. Very tired.

So he’s 63 and tired, I doubt he’s alone out there in that feeling.  He’s really pretty lucky , he makes a good salary , far too many today don’t have a salary (through no fault of their own) or if they have one it pays substandard wages , 10 bucks an hour or so.  Most old folks (a category he puts himself in) I don’t include myself in that one, yet, in 20 years maybe, worked from an early age (14 in my case) because you could easily find a job.  Not really as it is today where grown men who want to work can’t find a job. How many of you out there inherited their job??  The kind of inheritance youth of his and my time was to go to work in the same trade as your dad.

I’m tired of being told that I have to “spread the wealth around” to people` who don’t have my work ethic. I’m tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy or stupid to earn it.

Actually they are taking a big chunk of your money for national defense, or contractor support , depending on how you look at it.  The conservatives always count Social Security as their money and some of it is his money if he ever paid  into the systems, which the government promptly borrows each year by using the money to buy Treasuries which they owe back to the system in the future with interest , just like any other treasury note they hold.   Some of his money goes to roads, bridges, education, border security and yes some of it goes to support those less fortunate or are just temporarily down on their luck.  He doesn’t think this is his responsiblity as the rest of the right thinks.  It’s called the Commons and we all are tasked to pay for it.  The  difference is you’ll never hear me whine about it.

I’m tired of being told that I have to pay more taxes to “keep people in their homes.” Sure, if they lost their jobs or got sick, I’m willing to help. But if they bought McMansions at three times the price of our paid-off, $250,000 condo, on one-third of my salary, then let the left-wing Congress-critters who passed Fannie and Freddie and the Community Reinvestment Act that created the bubble help them with their own money.

Oh Golly Gee, it couldn’t have been the lack of regulation, criminal conduct by Banksters making loans they knew were bad (sometimes it takes money to pay a mortgage)( not a requirement for these guys) and put these folks into mortgages that the fine print said would blow up in a short while.  Then they sliced and diced the bundled mortgages into investment packages? and had them rated as AAA by some more crooks (who knew , or didn’t bother checking the package) and then sold them around the world.  If that isn’t bad enough they then bought derivatives betting that the packages would blow up as they knew they would. FRAUD AT BEST! For sure though according to these guys it was Fannie and Freddie  and of course don’t forget Acorn!

I’m tired of being told how bad America is by left-wing millionaires like Michael Moore, George Soros, and Hollywood entertainers who live in luxury because of the opportunities America offers. In thirty years, if they get their way, the United States will have the economy of Zimbabwe , the freedom of the press of China , the crime and violence of Mexico , the tolerance for Christian people of Iran , and the freedom of speech of Venezuela . Won’t multiculturalism be beautiful?

Congratulations Robert you hit all your favourite whipping boys in this one.  Would you like to wager on there being more conservative rich guys than liberal rich guys.

I’m tired of being told that Islam is a “Religion of Peace,” when every day I can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and daughters for their family “honor”; of Muslims rioting over some slight offense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren’t “believers”; of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning teenage rape victims to death for “adultery”; of Muslims mutilating the genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur’an and Shari’a law tells them to.

Nobody said you have to believe that Islam is a peaceful religion, I don’t think it is myself.  I also don’t think blowing up women and children by remote control planes is a peaceful thing either.  What I’m really tired of is the reluctance of many to accept responsibility for the not so nice things we do, some by accident and some with deliberate planning.  Too much to ask of you retards  to acknowledge we  have intentionally destroyed economy after economy in Latin America , backed assholes even worse than some of the Muslims you dislike so, overthrown governments who would not go along with our game plan (you think it’s the only plan), lied the country into war(more than once) and yet according to you we are the GOOD GUYS.

I believe “a man should be judged by the content of his character, not by the color of his skin.” I’m tired of being told that “race doesn’t matter” in the post-racial world of Obama, when it’s all that matters in affirmative action jobs, lower college admission and graduation standards for minorities (harming them the most), government contract set-asides, tolerance for the ghetto culture of violence and fatherless children that hurts minorities more than anyone, and in the appointment of US Senators from Illinois.

Really, color of skin is all that mattered in this country till the sixties when we were dragged kicking and screaming into some acknowledgement that African Americans might actually be humans.   From the sounds of the right we might be taking a few step backwards right now.  These folks are not closet racist they are right (far right) out in the open about it.

I think it’s very cool that we have a black president and that a black child is doing her homework at the desk where Lincoln wrote the emancipation proclamation. I just wish the black president was Condi Rice, or someone who believes more in freedom and the individual and less arrogantly of an all-knowing government.

I’ll bet he thinks it’s cool.

I’m tired of a news media that thinks Bush’s fundraising and inaugural expenses were obscene, but that think Obama’s, at triple the cost, were wonderful; that thinks Bush exercising daily was a waste of presidential time, but Obama exercising is a great example for the public to control weight and stress; that picked over every line of Bush’s military records, but never demanded that Kerry release his; that slammed Palin, with two years as governor, for being too inexperienced for VP, but touted Obama with three years as senator as potentially the best president ever. Wonder why people are dropping their subscriptions or switching to Fox News? Get a clue. I didn’t vote for Bush in 2000, but the media and Kerry drove me to his camp in 2004.

At least Kerry had a military record , they couldn’t find much of Bush’s. What they did find was a jacket that had AWOL stamped on the front of it.  These shits gave Swift Boats a bad name, a lot of my friends drove those into the face of death and to say Kerry wasn’t as brave as any of my friends is shameful.

I’m tired of being told that out of “tolerance for other cultures” we must let Saudi Arabia use our oil money to fund mosques and madrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in America , while no American group is allowed to fund a church, synagogue, or religious school in Saudi Arabia to teach love and tolerance.

Oh! you mean the money that buys THEIR OIL! It’s their money , It’s none  of our business what they do with it.  It ain’t our country, why should they let us build churches, in fact most of the world would be better off if nobody built churches , anywhere including here.

I’m tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global` warming, which no one is allowed to debate. My wife and I live in a two-bedroom apartment and carpool together five miles to our jobs. We also own a three-bedroom condo where our daughter and granddaughter live. Our carbon footprint is about 5% of Al Gore’s, and if you’re greener than Gore, you’re green enough.

I doubt your standard of living has lowered much , but a lot of the rest of the country has had theirs lowered due to the effect of the “THE FREE MARKET” put in practice from 1980 on.  Ross Perot , hardly a democrat, spoke of the “BIG SUCKING SOUND OF JOBS LEAVING THE COUNTRY ”   due  to NAFTA, GATT, WTO.  Look around it could be titled ‘THE BIG SUCK’.

I’m tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ rush out of a dark alley, grab them, and stuff white powder up their noses while they tried to fight it off? I don’t think Gay people choose to be Gay, but I damn sure think druggies chose to take drugs. And I’m tired of harassment from cool people treating me like a freak when I tell them I never tried marijuana.

NO COMMENT…TIME OUT TO PUKE!!!

I’m tired of illegal aliens being called “undocumented workers,” especially the ones who aren’t working, but are living on welfare or crime. What’s next? Calling drug dealers, “Undocumented Pharmacists”? And, no, I’m not against Hispanics. Most of them are Catholic, and it’s been a few hundred years since Catholics wanted to kill me for my religion. I’m willing to fast track for citizenship any Hispanic person, who can speak English, doesn’t have a criminal record and who is self-supporting without family on welfare, or who serves honorably for three years in our military…. Those are the citizens we need.

I’m tired of criminal CEO’s hiring undocumented workers because they will work for cheap and can’t bitch or they will be turned in.  I think you will find that a lot of these folks are no longer here, when the jobs went they went, unfortunately the CEO’s are still here, there money probably isn’t , it’s sunning in the Bahama’s.

I’m tired of latte liberals and journalists, who would never wear the` uniform of the Republic themselves, or let their entitlement-handicapped kids near a recruiting station, trashing our military. They and their kids can sit at home, never having to make split-second decisions under life and death circumstances, and bad mouth better people than themselves. Do bad things happen in war? You bet. Do our troops sometimes misbehave? Sure. Does this compare with the atrocities that were the policy of our enemies for the last fifty years and still are? Not even close. So here’s the deal. I’ll let myself be subjected to all the humiliation and abuse that was heaped on terrorists at Abu Ghraib or Gitmo, and the critics can let themselves be subject to captivity by the Muslims who tortured and beheaded Daniel Pearl in Pakistan, or the Muslims who tortured and murdered Marine Lt. Col. William Higgins in Lebanon, or the Muslims who ran the blood-spattered Al Qaeda torture rooms our troops found in Iraq, or the Muslims who cut off the heads of schoolgirls in Indonesia, because the girls were Christian. Then we’ll compare notes. British and American soldiers are the only troops in history that civilians came to for help and handouts, instead of hiding from in fear.

Some of us did do our time and in my case I have a  retirement check to prove it. Do you??   Yep, for once your right , bad shit happens in war, all the time.  Seldom if ever before in the history of this country has the Commander In Chief said the rules of war no longer apply.  The Geneva Convention “WHY THAT’S JUST A PIECE OF PAPER’ and promptly ordered the “Illegal Combatants ” tortured. The Sarge seems to think this is cool stuff and he’s ready to be tortured, like other big mouth right wing fools I simply say,  lay down I got the water and the rags.  Macho shit, when they should be hiding their face in shame. From the beginning George Washington ordered his commanders to treat the prisoners well with respect and dignity, this held till G. W. Bush, aren’t you proud?

I’m tired of people telling me that their party has a corner on virtue and the other party has a corner on corruption. Read the papers; bums are bipartisan. And I’m tired of people telling me we need bipartisanship. I live in Illinois , where the ” Illinois Combine” of Democrats has worked to loot the public for years. Not to mention the tax cheats in Obama’s cabinet as well.

Their all crooks, but you guys are SPECIALISTS!

I’m tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers, and politicians of both parties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful mistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was getting caught. I’m tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor.

Reading your resume sounds to me like you had it pretty easy.

Speaking of poor, I’m tired of hearing people with air-conditioned homes, color TVs and two cars called poor. The majority of Americans didn’t have that in 1970, but we didn’t know we were “poor.” The poverty pimps have to keep changing the definition of poor to keep the dollars flowing.

Nobody tell this guy that there wasn’t a lot of this stuff around in the 70’s .  I’d like to take this guy on a tour of OH say inner city Detroit.  Or for that matter , Street Corner USA and speak to probably some of the guys he served with in Nam, that his kind do not want to support , after all , they should just pull their self up by their bootstraps “OH SHIT , THEY DON’T HAVE ANY BOOTS” they are in flip flops and it’s 20 below.

I’m real tired of people who don’t take responsibility for their lives and actions. I’m tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination, or big-whatever for their problems.

OK, HOW ABOUT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE SCREWED  UP ECONOMICS YOUR HERO RONNIE REGAN GAVE THE COUNTRY 30 YEARS AGO.  How about it big guy??

Yes, I’m damn tired. But I’m also glad to be 63. Because, mostly, I’m not going to have to see the world these people are making. I’m just sorry for my granddaughter….

UNLIKE THIS GENTLEMEN , I WOULD PAY BIG MONEY TO STICK AROUND TO SEE MY GRANDSON AND DAUGHTER GROW UP AND ENJOY THE GOOD LIFE, THE DIFFERENCE  BETWEEN US IS I’M GOING TO FIGHT TO MAKE THAT SO TILL MY DYING BREATH.  I THOUGHT  MARINES WERE TRAINED NOT TO LEAVE A COMRAD ON THE BATTLEFIELD.  GUESS HE DIDN’T LEARN THAT LESSON!!

  1. Thanks for your post. You smear me for being ready to leave my granddaughter behind, saying I didn’t learn what a Marine should. I’d stick around if I could, but even Marines die and I have pulmonary fibrosis. Not well known, no cure, as it’s not a political disease, there are no postage stamps for it, but it usually kills in 3-5 years, and kills as many people as lung cancer. My symptoms started December 31, 2005, so I guess I’ll have to leave my granddaughter behind at some point, despite your denigration of my service as a Marine and as a state senator, neither of which you could have been. But I’m fighting it all the way, and still working full time. A few responses:

–Successful elected officials, right and left, put in longer hours than most people. When you are a Republican elected in a 4-1 Democrat district, you do even more. I worked almost every weekend when I wasn’t serving in the Marine Reserves. I counted one weekend where I attended 17 functions in 48 hours, plus held office hours.

–Despite your claims, I didn’t inherit my job or trade from my school teacher dad.

–Bill Clinton was right to support NAFTA, and your hero Ross Perot wrong. After it went into effect, the number of jobs increased in BOTH the US & Mexico. Economics is not a zero-sum game, except to the central planners. Suggest reading Dr. Thomas Sowell’s book “Basic Economics.” It was Smooth Hawley, killing international trade, that locked in the Great Depression.

–I support the Geneva Convention. It allows us to execute enemy combatants who are not in uniform, as Roosevelt did in WWII.

–Don’t know how my resume indicates I had it easy. I’ve worked long, hard hours for everything I have, no inheritance from my parents, no family business. I still put in 50 hour weeks, despite a constant cough.

–All spending and deficits must be approved by the US Congress. You might look at the total deficits for the three years the Democrats have controlled the congress (2007-2009) vs. the 12 years the Republicans controlled it (1995-2006). Reagan’s screwed up economics launched a long era of prosperity.

  2. The Grey Tiger Says:

Sorry your sick Robert. When you stop agreeing with torture then I’ll back off. As a marine you should know better.
